Internet Directories
FindaTradesman comprises a listing of South African tradesmen, such as builders, electricians and plumbers. We encourage these tradesmen to claim their own listings and declare any current trade memberships, such as the National House Builders Registration Board or Electrical Contractors' Association. This assists users searching the directory to make a decision on which tradesmen to use.
FindaTradesman shares its directory with another site, AvoidaCowboy (www.avoidacowboy.co.za), so any listings appearing in the one will be reflected in the other. AvoidaCowboy allows users to post comments about tradesmen they’ve used, thereby giving others a hands-on idea of the tradesmen’s levels of service.
Tradesman Database
Manta Projects offers a database solution for small business tradesmen called Enterprise Tradesmen. It allows users to create quotes and invoices, record expenses and keep track of important information such as follow-up customer contact, unpaid invoices and whether a job was accurately quoted on.
Bespoke Database Design and Project Services
For the small businessman, we find that a Microsoft Access-based solution is generally required. Bigger projects requiring SQL technologies can also be put together.
In addition to database design, we sometimes receive requests to help clarify raw data, often stored in Microsoft Excel. Excel is a popular piece of software used by many businesses, but sometimes it gets cumbersome with too much raw data. We can tailor an Excel workbook for you so that it is easier to use and less fraught with user errors.
